ONCE YOU BECOME DEAF, YOU WILL ALWAYS BE DEAF

When i was growing up, i learnt to accept my flaws (my deafness) and it helped alot because i met alot of people in my life who have always tried to use my flaws to discourage me or stop me from doing what i want in life but guess what, it didn't work a bit. Like they said "once you accept your flaws, nobody can use your flaws to against you".

Accepting your deafness is the first step before anything like going for Cochlear implant or whatever so that when it fails, it wont affect you as i have many cases where Cochlear implants worked for some Deaf people and failed some so its 50/50. 

HOW TO PUSH DISABILITY BILL TO PASS INTO LAW!!

I always say that we the Deaf cannot do it alone, we cannot push the Disability bills to pass into law alone, we cannot do it alone at all, we need everyone to join the struggle, we need everyone to  support the cause, i mean we need everyone such as the traditional rulers, religious leader that is when we will be able to make it happen miraculously. How do we do it?? Let us go further!

Society still treat issues with disabilities and persons with disabilities with disdain due to wrong or negative misconceptions they have held for long and festering in the society. Despite contemporary modern times fast paced growth and development, issues with disabilities still takes the back burner in the society why??

Therefore, I want to examine various ways some persons who can help the course and causes of disability, who should be seen as people with the "midas touch", people who can mold opinions and help in immeasurable way to ginger disability to take front burner in the society and most importantly who can help in passing the disability law and change conditions of persons with disabilities for the better.

I came across an article who was written by a Nigerian Based in American named Mr. Adeyemo Akintunde: "The Classification of IPOB as a Terrorist Organization: The Buhari Administration and Military Correctly Classified IPOB as a Terrorist Organization, Legally Speaking—a Primer on Terrorism" 

After reading the article, i have to come up with an article in response to the above article because there is no single definition of what terrorism means, so it's possible for someone to disagree with your definition of terrorism. 

ADAM AND EVE WERE AFRICAN-AMERICANS

As we grew up, we learnt about Adam and Eve and we know we all come from Adam and Eve... The most interesting part is we don't know if Adam and Eve were white, or black or Africans or Americans or whatever but what we know is that we all come from one Man and one Woman. Adam named his wife Eve because she was to become the mother of everyone who was living whether you are white or black or whatever. God's words will always come to pass, He blessed Adam and Eve and said to them.. "BE FRUITFUL, MULTIPLY, FILL THE EARTH AND SUBDUE IT" it has come to pass as we have over 7 billion population on this planet..

Guest Blog: Deafness Compared With Other Disabilities

Deafness is just another disability, right? A disability is just a wide term for any type of problem that sets someone apart from the masses. Everybody has their faults--stage fright, fear of deep water, relationship commitment issues, etc.--but disabilities limit essential faculties. By definition, they imply that the disabled are capable of less.

Of course, deaf people, like all disabled people, are able to live and work just as other people do, but that doesn't mean that they can live and work exactly like them. With certain help, though, they get by.

Here is where things start to branch out and instead of seeing the disabled as a single, large, unfortunate group, you start to see real individuals with actual problems, dreams, ambitions, loves, and much more.

DISABLED OR DIFFERENTLY ABLED?

When I checked for the meaning of “Disabled” in the dictionary, it is defined as 1. Physically or mentally impaired, injured or incapacitated, 2. Physically or mentally impaired persons. Please who are they referring to? People in wheelchairs? Blind people? Or Deaf people? It sounds abnormal and irritating after checking for the meaning of “disabled”

WHAT CAN DEAF PEOPLE DO?

It is not new that I tolerate such questions daily, in fact it has become normal for me. From time to time, people always ask me “what kinda jobs do deaf and hard of hearing people do”. I don’t really know what they see us like and then pop to ask such question, I don’t know if its difficult for them to see that Deaf people are employable and beneficial to any job just as hearing people or is it difficult for them to see that we are just like hearing people, I mean we are
