ALERT: ISIS TRYING TO RECRUIT DEAF COMMUNITY

It is sad that ISIS is now trying to recruit Deaf Community. ISIS is one of the deadliest terrorist groups in the world and they have killed a lot of people around the world. Recently ISIS was behind attacks and shooting in Paris which left about 153 people died in Paris.

After I read about terrorism by Akintunde Adeyemo, I can say that we have stupid terrorists and rational terrorists. They are strange, unhinged, narcissistic and selfish people, they are not capable of adding values to humanity but destroying the spirit of humanity. The stupid ones volunteer to die young, they are dispensable terrorists while rational terrorists are the decision makers, well educated and smart people, and they enjoy watching the dying citizens in the countries.

STOP BLAMING MUSLIM PEOPLE FOR TERRORISM

Since Boko Haram Group started in Nigeria few years ago, there has been a lot of comments that were trying to blame Muslim people for terrorism even when there was attacks in Mecca they also tried to blame Muslim people and recently when ISIS attacked Paris, instead of praying for the victims or doing something about it, a lot of people were busy blaming the Muslims for terrorism.

Stay Tough, Don't Crash!!!!

I don’t understand. It’s just Bejeweled. With candy. What’s the big deal? Innocent words from a better time. A better place. Before I’d ever made that deplorable journey to the App Store and downloaded… it is Candy Crush Saga. Now, about a month later, I’ve lost a little over $US230, hours of battery life, and any remaining semblance of dignity. Hello, my name is Ashley Feinberg, and I have a Candy Crush problem.

And as it so happens, it turns out that I’m not even the first. For those blessed few who have yet to play the game, Candy Crush is, for all intents and purposes, free. It costs nothing to download and, in theory, costs nothing to play. In theory. But you know what else seemed harmless in theory? Communism. The reality is far more complex.

Why it takes more than the media to grasp the world

THE TRANSPARENT CONVERSATION BETWEEN HANS ROSLING AND REPORTER

Hans: You can’t use media if you want to understand the world.

The reporter: That can of course be a point

Hans: You need to have a basic education from school and then you need to follow up on these basic facts. If you believe that the majority of the world populations are really poor, the girls don’t go to school, children aren’t vaccinated. And here are the rich countries and they try to get here as refugees. Then you don’t know the way it is. You need to understand that there are countries on all levels and most are somewhere in the middle. They go to school, they are vaccinated and they have two child families. You were talking about population growth. The number of children in the world has stopped increasing, because most people use contraceptives. And the Danish journalists didn’t know this when i asked them today.

Dad gets sweet implant tattoo for his deaf daughter

Charlotte Campbell age 6 with her dad Alistair who had a cochlear implant tattooed on his head to support Charlotte who is deaf.

Charlotte, 6, who had her first implant put in at the age of 4 in 2013, has just had her second one put in at Gillies Hospital. In a gesture of support, her father, Alistair Campbell, had his own "implant" tattooed on the left side of his head recently. Mr. Campbell, who had no other tattoos, said he wanted to do it to show her that he could go through a little bit of pain for her too.

SUBTITLES ON TV AND MOVIES

As I grew up being hearing impaired, I have always been glued to the TV but not able to follow up with news or movies so one day when my dad came in from an outing, he took the remote and turned on subtitle for me, I was so excited and ever since, I have been depending on subtitles when I want to watch TV or movies because if it is not on, then I would not be able to follow up and I will lose interest soon after.

In Deaf world, we cannot hear what is being said on the TV or Movies so we depend on subtitles and it carry us along too when we are watching along with hearing people. Thanks go to those who initiated subtitles and also to those who have the heart to put the subtitles on TV and movies.

TOP FIVE THINGS YOU SHOULD KNOW BEFORE LEARNING NSL/ASL

1. It's not easy as some think it is.
Some people jump in high aspirations and have no real training in using ASL in their everyday things. You must go through school. We recommend at least a bachelors degree minimum. Many people call me up and ask me to do a program for their kids or at schools and these students (children and adults) always think that if they pass my beginning Sign class, they're qualified to work as an interpreter or something using ASL.
