IT IS NOT DONE TILL IT IS DONE WITH DISABILITY BILL

I recall I used to hear various complaints several times over the discrimination against persons with disabilities (PwD), and they called for the president to pass the disability bill into law for years before I joined their struggle. The struggle continued till 2018 last year, President Buhari in person finally passed the bill into law.

IS HEARING IMPAIRED AN ACCEPTABLE TERM?

That's one of the hot questions today, and it will be good that we keep discussing the question because it helps us to spread the facts across the world.

Though the word "Hearing Impaired" was used mostly in the past but not anymore, its old fashion words and it's not acceptable again by most Deaf communities, and it's normal because as the years go by, we change and adapt to something new, something different and something that sounds good. Just as in the past, they use the word "Idiot" to describe a person who has a lack of skills necessary for day to day living and later on it changed to "mentally retarded," and today it's newly called "intellectual disabled."

WHO IS KYLE SCHULZE?

Kyle Schule was born with hearing loss and he is an  American Ninja Warrior known as Deaf Ninja, he is the first Deaf Ninja to make it to the national finalists.

HOW DID HE MAKE IT?

He started his obstacle training at the age of 22, and he did averagely 3 to 4 hours of practice daily. He is among the top 15 contestants who competed and emerged during the Show in the  August Episode in the Indianapolis City Finalists, and he is advancing to the national finalists in Las Vegas which will come up on the 29th of April.

THE HISTORY OF DEAF AT WORLD WAR ONE

Its unbelievable that in 21th century Deaf or Hard of hearing people can't join the military, though they have their reasons for that because, with amount of hearing loss, one could die during the battle or raiding because they couldn't hear and that is understandable but when we go back to World War One, we will see that Deaf people actually joined the military indirectly by fighting for the country.

Thanksgiving means the expression of gratitude, especially to God, in other words, Thanksgiving means giving thanks for everything you have or everything you appreciate. Most people give thanks for staying alive.

Many a time, we are always busily forgetting to appreciate or thank God or people for everything, so it is an excellent time to pause, think about everything and give thanks to everyone for everything they have done and also giving thanks to God if you are a believer.
