WE ARE SATISFIED WITH THE NIGERIAN ARMY ON THEIR BEHAVIOUR TOWARDS THE PHYSICALLY CHALLENGED, MR CHIJOKE ORAKWU

Now we are satisfied with the Nigerian Army who acted towards a physically challenged person named Mr Chijoke Orakwu who was assaulted by two military police officers in Onitsha for allegedly wearing army camouflage.

They took action against such by arresting two soldiers who brutalised the physically challenged man Mr Chijoke Orakwu (news) and they also publicly declared that they will not condone acts of indiscipline or gross misconduct by any member. They also assured us the Nigerians that the Nigerian Army has core
values and respect for the right of people. That was not all, they also offered clothing and an undisclosed amount of money to the victim that was physically challenged. Atleast now we know the action of those two soldiers did not reflect the attitude of today's soldiers under the leadership of Lt.-Gen. Tukur Burati. (news)

All thanks to the Executive Director of Centre for Citizens with Disabilities Mr. David O. Anyaele (press statement), the National President of Joint Association of Persons with Disabilities, Ms Ekaete Judith Umoh (press statement) and all concerned Nigerians for voicing out against such torture, degrading, dehumanizing, debasing, humiliating and brutalizing manner by two soldiers.

Dear Nigerians in general,

Please lets not abuse the military uniforms, as they respect us, lets respect them back. Thank you
